COURSES

Functional Movement Screening and Corrective Exercise Courses

The Functional Movement Screening and Corrective Exercise workshop is designed to teach the Exercise Professional how to effectively provide a movement assessment corrective strategy.

Objectives include:

  • Learning a standard for baseline movement screening prior to training program implementation.
  • Identifying functional limitations and asymmetries which have been linked to increased injury risk
  • Provide exercises to restore proper movement and build strength in each individual.

Attending the FMS level 1 workshop is required for taking the on-line certification exam.

FMS Level 2 is an Advanced Corrective Exercise workshop for those already FMS certified. This course provides a deeper understanding of the interpretation of results and corrective strategies.

Selective Functional Movement Assessment Courses

The SFMA is designed for Medical Credentialed Professionals who want to implement a movement based approach to treating pain.

The SFMA Level 1 course introduces the material for the foundation of the SFMA, The Big 7 movements and breakout assessments. The course also includes initial interventions directed towards the findings. Allowing the health care professional to evaluate painful movements, determine the source of the pain, and perform manual therapy and neuromuscular exercise techniques to treat the painful condition.

The SFMA Level 2 course provides greater depth of the breakout assessments and interventions.

SFMA level 1 and level 2 must be completed in order. The time between level 1 and 2 allows for the clinician to integrate the SFMA into clinic practice on patients, setting up a better working knowledge of application in patient care situations. This also facilitates greater discussion in the level 2 course.
